Origin
The hentai is based on Café Junkie (カフェ・ジャンキー) eroge developed by Blue Gale ON DEMAND on March 2, 2007.
The animated series made its debut on October 31, 2008 and was under Suzuki Mirano label. The hentai concluded on May 29, 2009 with two animated episodes.
Story
Even though Masaru is about to graduate from a technical college he still has no job. His one and only pleasure is to spend time at a cafe called “Hidamari.” The cafe is owned by his childhood friends Nanami and Kurumi’s parents and they are working there too. One day, he learns another one of his childhood friends is coming back to his town. He says, “I wanna meet her soon.” Triggered by his words, Nanami and Kurumi starts to approach him in a very different way than they ever did before…
Reception
There isn’t precise information about the sales performance in Japan for Cafe Junkie, but abroad, the series gained significant popularity in its early years, largely driven by the viralization of a specific scene in its second OVA.
Any otaku will recognize the iconic scene where Nanami is preparing food while, in the background, Masaru fucks Kurumi in the living room.
Due to the immense popularity that scene gained on the internet and the abundance of memes generated from it, we consider it one of the most iconic scenes in hentai history.
